Nürburgring (The Green Hell)
From our hotel, it is just a few kilometers to the racetrack. Why shouldn't you ride by to have a look, since you are here? Or if you are visiting an event at "The Ring", why not have a rest or even an overnight stay with us?

Rotweinwanderweg (Red Wine Footpath)
Just at our hotel, the "Red Wine Foothpath" starts. One can choose various trails with different distances, going through the wineyards which made this area famous. The trail is also suitable for mountain biking!

Ruins Castle Are
From our terrace, one has a wonderful view on the ruins of the Castle Are, beatifully illuminated at night. Take a walk up the hill to enjoy the wonderfull view!

Sommerrodelbahn (Summer Toboggan Run)
Just outside Altenahr we have the "Summer Toboggan Run". Something completely different!

Römervilla (Roman Villa)
For those looking for something cultural, you can find the remains of a Roman Villa in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler. The site is roofed and over bridges, one walks over and along the ruins.

Regierungsbunker (government bunker)
Also in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, you can visit a government bunker remaining from the period of The Iron Curtain. A part of this bunker is open for public. Be sure not to suffer from claustrophobia and take a coat with you!

Weinfest (Wine festival)
During five weekends in September and October, Altenahr celebrates harvesting the winegrapes. Together with the winefestivals in the surrounding villages, this celebration lasts eight weekends. Of course it is not nessecary to drink wine to party with us: we also have beer!

This area is just beautiful. Altenahr is surrounded by cute small villages where there is so much to see andto do. Larger places not far from here are Adenau, Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, Remagen, Bonn and Cologne.
